I am proud to have helped pass the STRONGEST PRO-GUN BILL in the country. Constitutional Carry H.3096 passed the SC House on April 7th, 2021. Not only does it ensure that law-abiding adults don’t have to ask the government permission to defend themselves and their families, but it was also amended with H.3042 – the Second Amendment Preservation Act which interposes the State of South Carolina against federal gun grabs.
The purpose of the Bill of Rights was to secure the foundational principles of liberty from the potential abuses of government. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution says:
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
The Right to Keep and Bear Arms is undoubtedly the most important of our freedoms because it is the ultimate check on government infringements.
Growing up my grandfather taught me how to shoot and how to properly handle a firearm.
The government doesn’t give us our freedoms – but in many cases, they have taken them away. The ability of law-abiding people to defend their person, family, and property is a cornerstone of liberty. I support ANY bill that defends and expands a law-abiding person’s right to defend themself.
We must not only expand Second Amendment rights in South Carolina, but we must also defend Second Amendment rights by nullifying unconstitutional federal acts.
