I would not be here today if not for the sacrifices of my grandfathers and ancestors who fought to secure our freedom. I am proud to fight for our Veterans!

South Carolina ranks #1 in the country for enhancing the quality of life of our veterans and this is something that I will continue to do.

Our veterans should not have to pay taxes, as they have greatly served our state and country. That is why I am proud to sponsor legislation that will exempt all South Carolina veterans from paying any state income tax.

One of the most essential and legitimate functions of government is the role our veterans play for the defense of our state and country. As a former Laurens County Council member and State Representative, I have always enjoyed working with our V.A. Offices to ensure that they have the resources and tools to help our veterans in our community.

I have also sponsored legislation to ensure that the men and women in the South Carolina National Guard cannot be abused by unconstitutional deployments.
